Grand National dream not to be for L'Homme Presse

L'Homme Presse has been ruled out of the 2025 Grand National following an interrupted preparation.

The disappointing news comes after having to miss the Cheltenham Gold Cup after suffering a setback.

Venetia Williams' charge followed up his King George third by winning the Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham in January.

However, after pulling up in the Ascot Chase on his third start this season things haven't quite gone his way.

In a statement to the PA news agency, owner Andy Edwards said: "Sadly L’Homme Presse will not run in the Grand National. He is sound and fine, but we just ran out of time. We are bitterly disappointed not to be running next weekend."

Intense Raffles is currently 7/1 favourite for the Aintree showpiece where £500,000 goes to the winner.
