The light-middleweight star overcame Zeyad Eashash by split-decision in a closely-contested quarter-final showdown at the weekend, and will hope to keep his gold medal hopes alive with a victory over Marco Verde on Tuesday evening.
The Mexican second seed is the 4/11 favourite to progress after impressing in each of his successes in Paris to date, with Richardson priced up as the 2/1 outsider.
The Essex-born fighter is already guaranteed at least a bronze medal however, after advancing to the semi-final stage of the event, which now moves from the North Paris Arena to the tennis courts of Roland Garros.
Defeat for the 25-year-old last time out would have seen Great Britain depart the Olympic Games without a single boxing medal for the first time since 1996.
"This is amazing - securing a medal is one of the most special moments of my life," Richardson said following his victory over Eashash on Saturday.
"People can keep doubting me all they want but I can definitely go all of the way. These last two weeks have been what I have dreamed about, so I am living my dream right now."
Richardon v Verde is scheduled to get underway at 20:45 (BST) on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to take on either Omari Jones or even-money gold medal favourite Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev in the final.
