Leicester v Norwich: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Long-time Championship leaders Leicester are down to third in the table and they may struggle to get their automatic-promotion challenge back on track against Monday's in-form visitors Norwich.

Leicester have dropped out of the Championship's top two after Friday's 1-0 loss at Bristol City made it four defeats in six games for the long-time leaders.

Enzo Maresca's Foxes looked as though they would run away with the league earlier in the season but they have suffered surprise losses to QPR and Middlesbrough in their last two home fixtures.

Norwich, in contrast, are up to sixth in the table following an impressive run of six wins in eight matches. The Canaries will be aiming to improve their modest away record against their under-pressure hosts at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester v Norwich betting tips and predictions

Norwich or draw double chance @ 6/5

Leicester striker Jamie Vardy missed several presentable chances in Friday's defeat at Bristol City but overall the Robins were good value for their 1-0 win.

Anis Mehmedi's sweet strike in the 73rd minute was one of 16 attempts at goal for the Bristolians, six of them on target, and Norwich should fancy their chances of troubling the Leicester defence on Monday.

History is not on the Canaries' side as they have lost six of their last eight league and cup matches against the Foxes.

Norwich have done most of their best work at Carrow Road this season, claiming 14 of their 19 Championship wins on home turf, but recent form suggests they can avoid defeat at the King Power Stadium.

The pressure is well and truly on Leicester as Ipswich and Leeds occupy the two automatic-promotion spots after Friday's round of Championship fixtures.

Norwich had to work hard for their 2-1 victory over Plymouth, coming from behind and clinching the points through a late Ashley Phillips own goal.

However, they thumped Stoke 3-0 and Rotherham 5-0 in their previous two league games and also showcased their attacking quality in February, beating Cardiff 4-1 and Watford 4-2.

Leicester's performances over the first half of the season mean they have to be respected and it would be no surprise if they rallied to finish in the top two.

But they were wasteful in front of goal and looked vulnerable at the back on Friday and facing a confident Norwich side is a tough assignment.

Josh Sargent to be first goalscorer @ 17/2

With exciting forward Jonathan Rowe injured, USA international Josh Sargent has stepped up to the plate for Norwich and he is a tempting price to open the scoring against Leicester.

Sargent has a terrific strike-rate in the Championship this season, scoring 14 goals in just 17 starts and two substitute appearances.

Nine of those goals have come in his last 10 games and he has racked up 36 shots in 757 minutes of playing time during that period.

Sargent had seven attempts at goal in the win over Plymouth, scoring Norwich's first goal, and should get chances against a leaky Leicester rearguard.

Wout Faes over 0.5 shots – 5/6

Leicester centre-back Wout Faes made some eye-catching bursts forward in the defeat at Ashton Gate and the Belgium international should be backed to have at least one shot in Monday's game.

Faes worked his way into some dangerous positions against Bristol City but, like many of his teammates, his final ball was not quite precise enough.

He scored a 15th-minute opener in Leicester's 3-1 defeat at title rivals Leeds on 23rd February and has had one or more shots at goal in six of his last seven league appearances.

As well as marauding forward in open play, the 6ft 2in Faes poses an aerial threat from set-pieces and he had two efforts at goal in September's reverse fixture against the Canaries.
