Leicester City are reportedly on the verge of signing striker Danny Ings on a free transfer.
Ings endured a frustrating campaign at Sheffield United last season as he scored just two goals in 22 Championship appearances.
He subsequently departed Bramall Lane at the end of the season and is available as a free agent.
At 33 years of age, Ings is approaching the twilight of his career but his availability has caught the eye of Leicester.
The Telegraph have reported that Ings is set to sign a one-year deal with the Foxes and a medical is expected to take place before the weekend.
New Leicester manager Russell Martin is looking for attacking reinforcements to boost a goal-shy attack that was relegated from the Championship last season.
Martin will be hoping that Ings' experience can spearhead a League One promotion push after the club were installed as the pre-season favourites.
Ings has suffered with a number of injury problems in recent years after enjoying prolific spells at Burnley and Southampton earlier in his career.
His time in the Premier League with West Ham United ended in disappointment prior to his move to Sheffield United as he scored just five times in 69 appearances.
However, Martin clearly feels that the striker still has something to offer and a drop down to League One makes sense at this stage of his career.
