Leeds United will be without Gabriel Gudmundsson for the next two matches while Noah Okafor and Jaka Bijol are both doubts for the visit of Burnley on Friday.
After losing their FA Cup semi-final flash clash against Chelsea, focus returns to the Premier League and Leeds know that a victory over the relegated Clarets will all but secure their survival ahead of the weekend's fixtures.
A five-match unbeaten league run means Leeds hold a six-point advantage over Tottenham Hotspur in the relegation zone with four matches of the season remaining, while Daniel Farke's Whites are comforted by the presence of Nottingham Forest and West Ham between themselves and the bottom three.
The encounter with Burnley would have been marked as a vital six-pointer at the start of the campaign and the current predicament of the managerless Clarets presents Leeds with a gilt-edged opportunity to take a giant step closer to safety.
However, Leeds are likely to head into the contest without three of the players who started in Sunday's FA Cup defeat at Wembley.
Gudmundsson sustained a hamstring injury in the closing stages against Chelsea and the early prognosis suggests the Swedish defender will miss the fixture against Burnley and the pivotal fixture against Tottenham in a week's time.
Okafor and Bijol are also uncertain to feature in Friday's Premier League clash as the duo both sustained knocks at the weekend.
On Gudmundsson's condition, Farke stated in his pre-match press conference: "Yes, it's a hamstring injury. It’s also a bit of a serious injury.
"[He] will definitely miss the game on Friday and also, as it stands, the Tottenham game. Then we have to see.
"We try to bring him back as quickly as possible, especially at this stage of the season.
I hope he can feature in one of the last two games, but, as it stands, the next two games, we will have to play without him.
Leeds finish the season by entertaining Brighton before travelling to the London Stadium to face West Ham, but Farke is optimistic of Okafor and Bijol's involvement before then.
"There are, after the last game in the cup, one or two question marks," Farke added.
"Noah Okafor got a hit against his calf. There is a little question mark behind his availability.
"Also, Jaka Bijol was dealing with some problems with his hip flexor. I hope to have them both available, but I can’t tell you right now if it’s possible."
