There are only three full weeks left to play in the regular season of the League of Legends LEC Summer Split, but the majority of the division are still in the hunt for a top-six berth in a fierce battle for the playoffs.
With the exception of Team BDS, who are off the pace in bottom spot with a 1-8 record, every team from SK Gaming upwards will feel they have a shot at qualifying for the playoffs going into week six.
But that could well change after the next few days, during which we are likely to see some teams take the initiative and others fall apart.

One of the big talking points in the world of League of Legends this week was that, after six years, Misfits Gaming have sold their spot in the LEC to Team Heretics for next season and will be leaving the competitive scene.
They will, however, play out the remainder of 2022 and the LEC Summer, in which they still have a chance of making the playoffs.
Next up they face a talented but potentially wounded Rogue side, who are in contention for top spot in the LEC Summer but lost to G2 Esports last time out.
Misfits have put up some pretty impressive kill count totals against strong teams in the last few weeks, winning the kill count 29-17 against MAD Lions at the end of week three, and they are worth backing at +7.5 on the kill handicap at 5/6 in this one.
What | Team Vitality v Excel, LEC Summer 2022 |
Where | Germany (offline) |
When | 19.00pm, Friday 29th July 2022 |

Odds | Team Vitality 11/10, Excel 4/6 |
Having fallen short of expectation throughout this LEC Summer Split, Team Vitality turned on the style in week four with a strong win over Fnatic but inconsistency again plagued them in week five.
They managed to defeat Misfits Gaming but lost to MAD Lions - a team they need to beat if they are serious about winning a split anytime soon - and getting star top laner Barney "Alphari" Morris to consistently be at his best has been a challenge.
They are still in the mix for the playoffs with a 6-5 record but Excel, who have a marginally better overall record in the LEC Summer at 7-4, can hinder their opponents with victory here.
Excel were one of the standout sides in week five, holding their own to see off both Misfits Gaming and Fnatic.
They established decent gold leads in both of those matches and took the kill count 18-3 against Fnatic and 19-10 against Misfits.
Excel have taken the spoils in three of their last five matches in the LEC Summer.
What | Team BDS v G2 Esports, LEC Summer 2022 |
Where | Germany (offline) |
When | 20.00pm, Friday 29th July 2022 |

Odds | Team BDS 9/2, G2 Esports 1/8 |
G2 Esports pulled off one of the shock results of week five in the LEC Summer 2022, running out winners against high-flying Rogue.
G2 had bot laner Victor "Flakked" Lirola Tortosa and top laner Sergen "Broken Blade" Celik to thank for the huge win, with the pair tormenting Rogue, whose eight-game winning sequence came to an end.
It capped off a strong fifth week for G2, who had also overpowered Astralis, and they have pulled themselves back into playoff contention.
They will not take their foot off the gas easily and should roll over Team BDS, who have lost ten of their 11 matches in the split, with their only win of the entire split coming against G2 back in week two.
But G2 have come on a lot since that week and Team BDS have lost the kill count by a margin of at least 10 in five of their last six matches.
