The League Two relegation battle has been simmering nicely throughout the season and will reach a fascinating crescendo on the final day of the campaign on Saturday.
Five teams are fighting to preserve their Football League status in what's been an absorbing battle where the fortunes of each club have ebbed and flowed.
Barrow and Harrogate Town currently occupy the bottom two, but Crawley Town, Newport County and Tranmere Rovers are perched precariously above the League Two drop zone.
Played | Won | Drawn | Lost | Goal Difference | Points | |
20 - Tranmere | 45 | 10 | 10 | 25 | -25 | 40 |
21 - Newport | 45 | 11 | 7 | 27 | -30 | 40 |
22 - Crawley | 45 | 8 | 15 | 22 | -24 | 39 |
23 - Harrogate | 45 | 10 | 9 | 26 | -28 | 39 |
24 - Barrow | 45 | 9 | 9 | 27 | -32 | 36 |
Victory at home to Grimsby Town, who need a point to secure a play-off berth, will ensure Tranmere's survival.
Even a point might be enough providing one of Newport, Crawley or Harrogate fail to win.
If Tranmere lose to Grimsby at Prenton Park, they will be relying on one of the aforementioned trio to also lose their respective fixture.
Newport go to basement side Barrow on the final day and Christian Fuchs' side know a win will preserve their League Two status for another season.
Like Tranmere, a draw might be enough. However, due to their inferior goal difference, it would also require one of Tranmere, Crawley or Harrogate to lose.
Defeat at Holker Street would leave them reliant on Salford inflicting defeat on Crawley or Barnet toppling Harrogate.
Crawley have been dealt the toughest final fixture as they welcome promotion-chasing Salford to Broadfield, who are hoping to leapfrog Cambridge United into third.
Colin Kazim-Richards' outfit just need to match Harrogate's result whilst avoiding a four-goal swing.
If Crawley lose, Harrogate must also lose for the Red Devils to survive.
Two successive victories have handed Harrogate a fighting chance of survival heading into the concluding round of fixtures.
The Sulphurites must beat Barnet and hope any of the three teams above them fail to win to haul themselves out of the relegation zone.
A draw could prove sufficient providing one of Newport or Crawley lose.
A 3-0 defeat to Cambridge means Barrow are in need of a miracle to prolong their Football League stay.
Barrow must defeat Newport, hope both Crawley and Harrogate lose whilst overturning an eight-goal deficit to preserve their League Two status.
