League One Saturday Accumulator: Fleetwood feature in 10/1 acca

The League One title race is heating up nicely with Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth having stolen a march on the rest of the field, but there are plenty of teams waiting to pounce if either of those two slip-up.

The eight-point gap the pair have built up on third-placed Ipswich looks like a healthy lead, but playoff occupants Bolton, Derby and Barnsley are all in excellent touch and won't have yet given up on securing a top-two finish.

With Wednesday and the Pilgrims facing tough away trips to Charlton and Peterborough on Saturday, those in behind must be targeting maximum points and the clash from Oakwell between highflying duo Barnsley and Derby could be the game of the day.

There is also plenty to note in the scrap for survival as Burton entertain Accrington, while rock-bottom Forest Green are desperate for maximum points at home to Lincoln.

To enjoy the action, we have picked out a four-fold accumulator which comes in at odds of around 10/1

Saturday four-fold acca:

Bolton to beat Port Vale @ 4/6

Over 2.5 goals in Barnsley v Derby @ 43/40

Under 2.5 goals in Exeter v Cambridge @ 4/5

Fleetwood to beat Morecambe @ 4/5

Odds correct at time of writing and are subject to fluctuation.

Rampant Bolton look a class apart

WhatBolton v Port Vale
WhereUniversity of Bolton Stadium, Bolton
When15:00, Saturday 25th February
OddsBolton 4/6, Draw 14/5, Port Vale 4/1

Bolton booked their place in the EFL Trophy final with Wednesday's 2-0 win at Accrington and with confidence sky high, Wanderers should be a cut above visitors Port Vale.

Ian Evatt's side are also going well in their chase of League One promotion as they sit fourth, nine points behind Plymouth in second and look assured of at least a playoff place.

And that's because they are performing at the peak of their powers at present, especially when armed with home advantage.

Bolton have won seven of their last 10 league games and that includes their last four matches at home. They have kept five straight clean sheets at University of Bolton Stadium and a rampant 5-0 success over MK Dons in the most recent of them suggests they are in the mood to deliver.

Vale have had a decent season considering they were only promoted from League Two last season, but their form is tailing off and they were beaten 1-0 at a relegation-threatened Morecambe on Tuesday.

The Valiants have now lost six of their last nine league games and look out of their depth in this fixture with Bolton, who are worthy favourites at 4/6

Get on goals at Oakwell

WhatBarnsley v Derby
WhereOakwell Stadium, Barnsley
When15:00, Saturday 25th February
OddsBarnsley 15/9, Draw 9/4, Derby 6/4

After sluggish starts to the season, Barnsley and Derby have found their feet and the in-form duo should put on a show at Oakwell.

The Tykes, who sit sixth, are unbeaten in six and particularly strong at home while the Rams, who are one place better off, have lost only one of their last 18 and have their eyes set on promotion.

And with both teams playing well and scoring freely, goals should be on the cards in this crunch clash in Yorkshire.

This is the third meeting between these two teams this season and both encounters have gone the way of Derby, who won 2-1 at home in the league in August and then were 3-0 winners in January's FA Cup encounter at Pride Park.

However, home advantage for Barnsley makes things more interesting as the Tykes have won seven of their last eight on their own patch.

Seven of Barnsley's last 10 matches have gone over 2.5 goals and at 43/40 this encounter can follow suit.

Exeter's matches lacking entertainment

WhatExeter v Cambridge
WhereSt James Park, Exeter
When15:00, Saturday 25th February
OddsExeter 5/6, Draw 12/5, Cambridge 7/2

Five of Exeter's last six home league games have rewarded backers of under 2.5 goals and that trend may continue against Cambridge, who are scrapping for their lives at the bottom of League One.

Cambridge have also seen two or fewer goals in five of their last six games and, given their away-day troubles, it is easy to envisage this match being short on entertainment.

The visitors have gone nine games without a win on their travels, failing to score in seven of those fixtures, which lends itself to this being another low-scoring encounter.

Exeter have failed to score in their last three games and with neither team confident in their attacking abilities at present, under 2.5 goals looks a strong selection at 4/5

Confident Cod Army can catch rivals cold

WhatFleetwood v Morcombe
WhereHighbury Stadium, Fleetwood
When15:00, Saturday 25th February
OddsFleetwood 4/5, Draw 11/4, Morecambe 10/3

Fleetwood should pile the pressure on their struggling Lancashire rivals Morecambe with victory at the Highbury Stadium.

The Cod Army have started to put in some strong performances and they find themselves unbeaten in five matches in all competitions thanks to Tuesday's 1-0 win at home to Cambridge.

Scott Brown's side held Plymouth to a goalless draw during that run, becoming only the second side of the 16 that have tried to pick up a positive result at Home Park.

Fleetwood also won their two home games prior to that. A 1-0 FA Cup win over League One leaders Sheffield Wednesday was followed by a victory of the same scoreline against a respectable Peterborough outfit.

And that defensive discipline should stand them in good stead against toiling neighbours Morecambe, who boast the worst away form in the division with just seven points collected from their 15 road trips.

The Shrimps have lost their last six away league games and that makes odds of 4/5 about a Fleetwood win seem too good to be true.
