LN4 Fusion, who are co-founded by reigning Formula One World Drivers' Championship winner Lando Norris, have been granted entry to the Formula Two for the 2027 season.
Norris clinched his maiden F1 Championship in the 2025 season, topping the standings with 423 points, just two more than Red Bull's Max Verstappen.
It was a remarkable campaign for the Brit -- who won seven of the 24 Grand Prix races -- but he has seriously struggled to replicate that success this campaign, placed sixth in the standings ahead of the Mexican GP on Sunday 1st November.
He risks becoming the first driver since Damon Hill in 1997 to finish a title defence outside the top five of the World Drivers' Championship.
Away from the track, however, Norris has been handed some positive news, with his team LN4 Fusion set to compete in F2 for the first time next season.
LN4 Fusion were founded by Norris and an investment group, led by Dan Richards, as recently as September, with a view to competing in junior motorsport in 2027.
Having acquired assets from the existing AIX Racing outfit, it has been confirmed that the team have been selected to compete in F2 from next season.
Speaking on the 11 teams set to compete in the second tier single-seater championship, Formula 2 CEO Bruno Michel said:
“We have retained 10 of our current teams, who have consistently demonstrated their commitment to providing the best possible environment for young drivers to prepare for Formula 1.
“I am also pleased to welcome LN4 Fusion to the grid. They will bring considerable expertise, and I am confident they will make a valuable contribution to the Championship.”
The three-year cycle in F2 means that LN4 Fusion are guaranteed two cars on the grid for the 2027, 2028 and 2029 seasons, while they will also have entries across Italian and German Formula 4 and Formula Regional and Formula 3.
