Lamine Yamal is set to be handed the iconic number 10 shirt at Barcelona for next season as Ansu Fati's loan move to Monaco moves closer.
After showing glimpses of his immense potential in his early years at the club, Fati was handed the number 10 jersey when the legendary Lionel Messi left the club in 2021.
Now at 22 years of age, Fati has not lived up to the initial hype and whilst his move to Monaco looks set to be a temporary one, its unlikely that he will have a future in Catalonia.
The likes of Messi, Diego Maradona and Rivaldo feature on the list of the greatest number 10s to play for Barcelona and according to Mundo Deportivo, the impressive Yamal will don the jersey for the 2025/26 season.
Yamal starred as Spain were victorious at Euro 2024 last summer and he has already established himself as one of the world's best players at the age of 17.
The fleet-footed winger also features prominently in the 2025 Ballon d'Or odds after scoring nine goals and registering 15 assists as Barcelona secured the La Liga title in May.
With over 100 Barcelona appearances to his name already, Barcelona's hierarchy have already seen enough to give Yamal the honour and it is expected that he will be a mainstay at the club for at least the next decade.
