11 years after Australia won the Epsom Derby, his son Lambourn repeated the feat following a superb performance from the front and a magnificent ride from jockey Wayne Lordan.

Lordan went flat out from start to finish and none of the rivals could keep up with the pace - including favourite Delacroix who struggled to travel throughout the race.

The result means O'Brien has completed an Epsom double after winning the 2025 Oaks with Minnie Hauk 24 hours earlier.
