La Liga Saturday Accumulator: Getafe could upset top-four hopefuls

The Copa del Rey final is now set and the Champions League quarter-finals are on the horizon but this weekend in Spain attention switches back to La Liga with an intense relegation battle brewing and Real Madrid aiming to narrow Barcelona's lead at the top.

Saturday four-fold acca:

Our La Liga four-fold selection is priced up at almost 33/1.

Osasuna to beat Elche @ 8/11
Over 2.5 goals in Espanyol v Athletic Bilbao @ 11/8
Getafe or draw double chance v Real Sociedad @ 11/10
Real Madrid to win & over 2.5 goals v Villarreal @ 11/10

Odds were correct at time of writing and are subject to change.

OddsOsasuna 8/11, Draw 13/5, Elche 4/1

Spirits should be high in the Osasuna camp after the club booked their place in the final of the Copa del Rey for only the second time in their history with a two-legged triumph over Athletic Bilbao but they must switch focus back to La Liga this weekend.

The Copa del Rey has been a bit of a distraction for the Pamplona club recently - they failed to win any of their four matches between the first and second legs of their semi-final tie - but with the final not until May, the league should have their full attention from now.

And on Saturday they could hardly ask for a softer fixture as they host the league's basement boys Elche, who have won only two La Liga games all season.

They are 14 points adrift of safety in Spain's top flight, having shipped 55 goals this campaign, and they are worth opposing against an Osasuna team who are set to welcome back top scorer Ezequiel Avila this Saturday.

OddsEspanyol 5/2, Draw 11/5, Athletic Bilbao 6/5

Along with arguably eight other clubs, Espanyol are in the midst of a relegation battle in La Liga but that makes them dangerous opponents and punters should not rush to back visitors Athletic Bilbao at the Estadi Cornella-El Prat.

Espanyol have lost each of their last four matches in La Liga but they have scored in each of them and should put up a fight against their Basque counterparts, who will be licking their wounds after having been dumped out of the Copa del Rey by Osasuna in the semi-final stage.

They have won just one of their last eight matches in all competitions and with neither side making an appeal in the match result markets, over 2.5 goals looks the wisest bet at 11/8.

Athletic Bilbao scored three in their last away game against Real Valladolid, while each of Espanyol's last five fixtures have featured at least three goals.

Having not long ago looked nailed-on to finish best of the rest behind the El Clasico clubs in La Liga, Real Sociedad now look at risk of falling out of the Champions League places altogether after a poor run of form.

Imanol Alguacil's side have managed only one win in their last eight matches in all competitions - and even that was only against strugglers Elche.

They were knocked out of the Europa League as part of that run and their confidence is through the floor right now, so punters should back Getafe to nick at least a point off them at the Anoeta.

Getafe are in the relegation mix but are unbeaten in their last four games, winning two and drawing two, and should hold their own in this match.

Real Madrid can maintain fine scoring form

Thanks to a hat-trick from Karim Benzema, Real Madrid booked their place in the final of this season's Copa del Rey with a sensational 4-0 rollicking of Barcelona at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night.

That El Clasico triumph followed a similarly devastating 6-0 thrashing of Real Valladolid in the league and it is fair to say Carlo Ancelotti's side know where the net is right now.

And they are fancied to maintain their fine form and keep their faint title hopes alive when they face Villarreal on Saturday, having been priced at 8/15 to prevail in 90 minutes.

But to squeeze a bit more value out of the match, punters are advised to back a Real Madrid win and over 2.5 goals at 11/10.

That selection would click in the event of another Real Madrid thrashing but also if their opponents Villarreal, who have scored five times in their last two games, get on the scoresheet in defeat.
