Kyren Wilson has shortened into 11/1 to win the 2024 World Snooker Championship following his dismantling of Dominic Dale in the first round.
(Odds will display when market is available)
Wilson was in sensational form as he hit breaks of 52, 75, 123, 96, 50, 77 and 73 in a complete domination of Dale, who simply had no answer to the world number 12.
The Warrior was 88 points into a maximum attempt in the final frame but was unable to finish the match in the style that he wanted, with a mid-distance red proving his undoing.
On his 147 attempt, Wilson said: "It's no disrespect to Dom but it's not often you find yourself in that position where you can just have a free shot at it (a 147).
"My family came up for today's session so I thought it might be nice! They watched my last 147 at school in this tournament last year so I thought it might be nice to try to do one for them live."
Wilson boasts an impressive record at the Crucible, advancing to the quarter-final stage for six consecutive years from 2016 to 2021, which included a final appearance against Ronnie O'Sullivan in 2020 where he was beaten 18-8 by the Rocket.
His last two appearances in Sheffield have been underwhelming in comparison, having failed to progress beyond the second round in 2022 and 2023.
Wilson's last title came in 2022 where he defeated Barry Hawkins to lift the European Masters trophy. The 32-year-old did reach the German Masters semi-finals earlier this year before being defeated by Si Jiahui, who conquered three-time world champion Mark Williams at the Crucible on Tuesday.
The Warrior will take on Joe O'Connor in the last 16, who stunned four-time world champion Mark Selby in the first round.
Wilson is 4/11 to win the match and O'Connor is priced at 11/5 to reach the quarter-finals on World Championship debut.
