Aidan O'Brien's star enjoyed a phenomenal 2022 where he established himself as one of the leading stayers, winning the Ascot Gold Cup, Goodwood Cup, Irish St Leger and Prix du Cadran.
His performance at Longchamp in particular was one of his most impressive, having slowed at one stage of the race before flexing his superiority and winning by 20 lengths.
But Kyprios' 2023 was derailed after suffering an infection in his joint, forcing him to miss the bulk of last season.
The six-year-old made his belated appearance in the Irish St Leger in September but was unable to successfully defend his crown as Eldar Eldarov prevailed.
He ran a big race at Ascot in the British Champions Long Distance Cup but was pipped by Trawlerman, prompting concern as to whether Kyprios would ever be able to recapture the level of performance he displayed in 2022.
Ahead of his first outing in 2024, reports from O'Brien's Ballydoyle stable are promising and Kyprios will be looking to claim victory in the race that set him on course for Royal Ascot glory; he is the 11/4 favourite to claim Ascot Gold Cup glory for a second time.
Kyprios does face stern competition in this contest. Dawn Rising, who was a winner of the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot for Joseph O'Brien last season, is 11/2 to come out on top at Navan.
