The Willie Mullins-trained Kopek Des Bordes is the favourite to win the Michael O'Sullivan Supreme Novices' Hurdle on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival.
The unbeaten five-year-old has only had three outings in his fledgling career but the quality of the performances have been enough to propel him to the top of the market for the first race of the day.
A bumper win on debut at Fairyhouse 12 months ago was followed by a winning return on his seasonal reappearance at Leopardstown on Boxing Day.
The only really doubt was around his jumping ability over Christmas but his display in the Grade 1 Tattersalls Ireland Novice Hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival left punters purring ahead of Cheltenham.
He was raced keenly under Paul Townend and his jumping was much-improved as he powered clear of the field to win by 13 lengths for his first win in top-level company.
Mullins will be looking to extend his record in the Supreme to eight victories and end a three-year drought after wins for Constitution Hill, Marine Nationale and Slade Steel since Appreciate It prevailed at the 2021 Cheltenham Festival.
