Kopek Des Bordes lived up to his favourite tag as he cruised to victory in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham.
Heading the betting at 4/6, Kopek Des Bordes kept track of pacesetter Workahead and began to shift through the gears with two hurdles remaining.
He stumbled slightly over the last, but fended off the late charge of William Munny to the delight of the crowd and his owner, Charlie McCarthy.
The perfect start for Willie Mullins and Paul Townend at this year's Cheltenham Festival, eyes will be turning to Kopek Des Bordes' prospects in 2026 with the supremely talented five-year-old now priced at 5/1 for the Arkle and Champion Hurdle.
