Everything has gone pretty much to plan for the Kolkata Knight Riders this season as they chase their first IPL title for 10 years, but they will be well aware that Sunday's final against Sunrisers Hyderabad will be no easy ride.

Cricket fans look set for a treat as the world's premier 20-over league reaches its climax at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai (15:00 BST start) with the top two teams from the regular season going head to head with the title on the line.

The Knight Riders finished three points clear of the Sunrisers in the league stage with nine wins and only three losses in their 14 regular-season matches, while Hyderabad were beaten five times but came out on top in eight games.

The teams have met twice this season, with the Knight Riders securing the victory both times. The Knight Riders were well on top in their Qualifier 1 meeting last week as an eight-wicket success sent the table-toppers straight through to the final.

However, their clash in March - the opening game of the season for both teams - was much closer as KKR prevailed by just four runs in a fantastic match.

The Sunrisers got back on track with an impressive 36-run victory over Rajasthan Royals in the Qualifier 2 match on Friday, but getting extra time to rest is another benefit for the Knight Riders.

Hyderabad will hope wily skipper Pat Cummins, who got his tactics spot-on against the Royals, can plot a path to victory again but on the balance of what we have seen from both teams this season Kolkata should have the edge.

Heinrich Klaasen - Top Sunrisers Hyderabad Batter - 9/2

Hyderabad are a no-nonsense outfit who will either win or go down all guns blazing and South African batsman Heinrich Klaasen is one man who is capable of turning any match in their favour.

Klaasen looks a nice price to be his team's top batter as he comes into the final in great form and has also had success against the Knight Riders.

The hard-hitter has scored at least 32 in each of his last three innings and his 50 runs were crucial as he top-scored for his team in Friday's win over Rajasthan.

Klaasen blitzed 63 runs from just 29 balls with eight sixes in the teams' first meeting this season, breaking the IPL record for most sixes in an innings without hitting a four.

He hit another vital innings of 42 in the Sunrisers' final league-stage match against the Punjab Kings on Sunday and Hyderabad fans will be hoping he can provide more middle-order fireworks in the final.

Mitchell Starc over 1.5 wickets - 6/4

Australian pace ace Mitchell Starc had a tough time in Kolkata's first match against Hyderabad this season, getting knocked around for 53 runs in four wicketless overs as Harshit Rana was the star bowler for the Knight Riders with three wickets.

Starc starred in last week's rematch, though, bowling his international team-mate Travis Head for a duck and also claiming the key wickets of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Shahbaz Ahmad, who was bowled for a golden duck.

The 34-year-old was the most expensive signing in IPL history when Kolkata acquired him in this season's auction and could reward that faith in the best way possible with another huge performance in the final.

Starc took a season's best 4-33 against the Mumbai Indians earlier this month and can be fancied to snap up at least two wickets in the final now he is hitting top form.
