Kieron Conway and Ryan Kelly face-off in a Commonwealth middleweight title bout on Saturday night and our resident boxing expert Rob Tebbutt provides his best bets for the bout.
Kieron Conway and Ryan Kelly square off on the Edwards-Yafai undercard for the Commonwealth middleweight title.
The bout features two solid professionals, both with plenty on the line in the British 160lbs division.
Conway enters the bout as the favourite, having consistently boxed at the higher level, while underdog Kelly has been something of a nearly-man over the years, only losing in good company on the domestic scene.
I feel this bout will come down to the superior skill-set of Conway, who always looks easy-on-the-eye but can be guilty of fighting within himself.
I do feel that Kelly will force him to fight at a higher tempo, but I actually feel that benefits Conway.
Both men are tough and experienced, while neither man are the biggest of punchers, but, for me, I fancy Conway, as he often does, to control the tempo and secure a clear decision win on the cards.
