Trainer Kelly Stuart-Mitchell is hoping Keayang Omar can use his impressive early speed to pull off an upset on Saturday night.
Keayang Omar contests the Alabar Vicbred Platinum Home Grown Classic for three-year-old colts and geldings and it is a tough assignment for Stuart-Mitchell’s charge.
Keayang Omar will be having just his third career start in the $50,000 final but has not been handed the best of barrier draws in five.
Even so Stuart-Mitchell is just delighted to be contesting a final and believes her charge can put his electric early pace to good use.

“He does have good gate speed and with it only being over 1700m we probably do have to go forward,” Stuart-Mitchell told Trots Talk. “It’s super exciting to have Keayang Omar in on Saturday night, so hopefully the gods can open up and go our way.”
Meanwhile Stuart-Mitchell believes Keayang Omar will be right in the mix and could even cause an upset by winning. If that is the case she could be lost for words.
“It would be amazing,” she added. “There’s probably no words to think if I could win it. I like to think he’ll be there abouts, but if he did come out and win that would be unreal. I would be so excited.”
Stuart-Mitchell just has eight horses in her stable but it is happy to keep it that way. "I have a small team, a nice little team though I am proud of them all,” she added.
