Two of boxing's pound-for-pound superstars Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will lock-horns in an enticing trilogy showdown in the early hours of Saturday 12th July, 2025, and we've got all the details you need to know ahead of the blockbuster bout.
Katie Taylor v Amanda Serrano 3 will take place on Friday 11th July, but with the bout being staged in the United States, the actual fight time will be in the early hours of Saturday 12th July, 2025.
Katie Taylor v Amanda Serrano 3 is expected to get underway at around 03:30 (BST), although this is subject to the length of the undercard fights.
Katie Taylor v Amanda Serrano 3 will be staged at Madison Square Garden, in New York City - the same venue in which Taylor prevailed in when the pair first locked-horns in April, 2022.
Despite the two fighters previously agreeing to fight a potential trilogy bout over 12 three minute rounds, it's been announced that Katie Taylor v Amanda Serrano 3 will take place over 10 two minute rounds.
"I'm disappointed that Katie Taylor did not keep her word and make the trilogy 12 three-minute rounds," Serrano said. "This is a record-setting payday for both of us, and we owed it to the fans to honour the handshake deal we made. She didn't."
All of the marbles in the women's super-lightweight division will be on the line in the Big Apple, as Katie Taylor bids to make a successful defence of her WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, IBO and Ring Magazine straps.
Katie Taylor will be looking to make it a hat-trick of victories over Amanda Serrano this summer, having prevailed on the judges scorecards on each of the two previous occasions the pair have met.
The Irish star edged a controversial split decision in the first showdown in new York back in April 2022, retaining her undisputed lightweight championship, with the ring officials scoring the bout 97-93 and 96-93 for Taylor, and the other 96-94 to Serrano.
Another tense and dramatic affair followed in the rematch last year, although, despite being doked a point for a headbutt in the eighth round, Taylor secured narrow 95-94 victories by all three judges.
Katie Taylor:
“I want to thank everyone at Matchroom, MVP and Netflix for getting the trilogy over the line and I can't wait to headline at MSG again in July.
"I’m 2 and 0 against Amanda but it's obviously a very special rivalry that delivers every time we step in the ring so I think it's only right that we have the trilogy.
"The atmosphere for the first fight there was amazing and I'm sure it won't be any different this time around.
"The numbers that got to see the last fight in November were incredible so hopefully those people will all want to tune in for the trilogy fight as well and we can deliver another great fight."
Amanda Serrano:
"I promised my fans they would see this trilogy, and I’m incredibly grateful that we get to complete our journey where it all began - at Madison Square Garden, live on Netflix for the world to see.
"Every time we share the ring, it is war, and I know Friday, July 11th, will be the greatest yet because I will finally get the official win I deserve.
"Headlining an all-female card at MSG, representing both New York and Puerto Rico, is something I never thought would be possible, and it wouldn’t be without Nakisa Bidarian, Jake Paul, and MVP’s commitment to elevating women’s boxing."
