bet365's boxing expert Rob Tebbutt provides his best bets for this weekend's hugely-anticipated women's undisputed super-lightweight championship rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.
Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano square off on the Jake Paul v Mike Tyson undercard in a rematch of their April 2022 classic.
The bout features two of the biggest names in women’s boxing in what has been reported as the richest fight in the history of the female code.
Despite winning the first fight, and being the naturally bigger woman, Ireland’s Taylor enters the rematch with Serrano as a slight betting underdog.
This is something of a surprise, considering Serrano is yet to compete at super-lightweight and, in their first contest at lightweight, it seemed to be the size of Taylor that saw her squeak home on the scorecards.
Taylor has shown some signs of deterioration in recent years, but she is still coming off of arguably the best win of her career against Chantelle Cameron last November and I am quite surprised she’s drifted to the betting underdog here, particularly when considering four of Serrano’s last five fights have been at the 126lbs featherweight limit.
Ultimately, I feel this is a fight that Katie Taylor should win.
Unless there has been further deterioration, I’m backing her size to be too much of an advantage for Serrano to overcome and feel the 'plus money' play on Katie Taylor to prevail on the scorecards represents tremendous value.
