Katie Taylor Odds: Taylor 4/6 to prevail in hugely-anticipated Amanda Serrano rematch

Katie Taylor will bid to further cement her legacy in Arlington, Texas, on July 21st when she puts her undisputed super-lightweight championship on the line against old nemesis Amanda Serrano.

Katie Taylor v Amanda Serrano

Undisputed super-lightweight championship

The two prize-fighters made history in 2022 when they became the first women to headline New York's fabled Madison Square Garden in a pulsating 10 round affair.

Taylor eventually prevailed, via a narrow split-decision, in a fight that was widely regarded as the best of the year, and the best of all-time within the female fighting code.

The two looked set to get it on for a second time 12 months ago, before an injury forced seven-weight world champion Serrano to pull out of the showdown.

However, speculation has been rife that the two were back on a collision course after Taylor captured all four 140lbs titles from Chantelle Cameron in November, and so it has proven, with the mammoth bout now being officially confirmed as the co-main event for the Jake Paul v Mike Tyson card this summer.

Cameron, who has been heavily lobbying for a trilogy fight with Taylor, became the first woman to overcome Taylor last May, and Serrano, who many felt did enough to edge the first fight in April 2022, has been priced at 6/5 to inflict a second defeat upon the Irish sensation.

"This is the rematch the world has wanted to see and I’m delighted that it’s finally happening," Taylor, who is 4/6 to win the fight, said following the announcement.

"The first fight in New York was obviously an epic occasion and it more than lived up to the billing, and I’m sure the rematch will be no different."

Serrano said: "I promised my fans they would see this rematch after we made history at MSG (Madison Square Garden) and it feels like a dream come true to know that Katie and I are finally making it happen on the biggest stage possible.

"I believe I won our first fight, but I didn’t get the decision, so this time I’m not leaving it to the judges."

Former undisputed heavyweight world champion 'Iron' Mike Tyson, who is 13/10 to beat Jake Paul (8/13), added: "Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano are two of the best boxers in the world, and I know they can both put on an incredible show.

"These remarkable athletes will undoubtedly elevate the event with their global appeal and fan bases. Adding one of the greatest fights in women's boxing history to this unforgettable event is a true gift to fans."

The full fight card will be streamed globally to Netflix subscribers, with the undercard action set to get underway from 01:00 (BST).
