Justis Huni has weighed in at his career heaviest ahead of Saturday night's clash with Fabio Wardley.
Justis Huni has stepped in to fight Fabio Wardley after Jarrell Miller was forced to pull out of the bout through injury.
Huni and Wardley will take place on Saturday 7th June at Portman Road, Ipswich, a dream venue for British-born Wardley who is a life-long Ipswich Town supporter.
Wardley will likely still get his clash with Miller, but for now he has a job to do against an undefeated, 26 year old fighter who can’t be taken lightly.
In the weigh-in the day prior to the fight, Huni came in at a career-high weight of 248lbs, arguably because he only got the call to fight Wardley just six weeks ago.
Nonetheless, it’s a weight that tops his previous high against Troy Pilcher in July 2024 by half a pound.
Meanwhile, Wardley matches his joint-heaviest weight at 243lbs, previously weighing this amount in a split decision draw against Frazer Clarke back in March 2024, the only fight in which he hasn’t emerged victorious.
He did, however, avenge his draw, defeating Clarke via TKO in Riyadh in October 2024.
Both fighters remain in good spirits just a day out from the fight, while Wardley appeared confident of a knockout when speaking at the weigh-in.
“There are no nerves - this is everything I’ve asked for and everything I’ve wanted. We are only hours away so tomorrow night is going to be huge.
One way or another we are getting that knockout.

Huni on the other hand is welcoming arguably his toughest challenge yet.
“I love this. I’m going to embrace it and soak it all up. I took this fight on six weeks’ notice and I’m here now. The hard work is done - it’s time to go out there and have some fun.”
