Jurgen Klopp's most used players

In terms of total appearances, we look at Jurgen Klopp's most used players throughout his managerial career.

1 - Roberto Firmino - 355

Signed prior to the arrival of Jurgen Klopp, Roberto Firmino struggled to carve out a niche for himself under Brendan Rodgers, famously being used as a wing-back at one point.

The arrival of Klopp however saw Firmino become one of the Premier League's most important players, linking up play to great effect between Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

2 - Mohamed Salah - 349

Signed in Klopp's second full season in charge, it could be argued that Mohamed Salah had the biggest impact of all of the German's signings.

While the likes of Alisson and Virgil van Dijk were the missing pieces in the puzzle, Mohamed Salah transformed the club, recording a ridiculous 42 goal contributions in his first season alone.

3 - James Milner - 323

The marathon man himself, James Milner was signed the summer prior to Klopp's arrival. Owing to his versatility and professionalism, Milner racked up appearances all over the pitch, and while he wasn't always the first name on the team sheet, he never made fewer than 36 appearances in a season under Klopp.

4 - Trent Alexander-Arnold - 310

Coming through Liverpool's academy, Trent Alexander-Arnold was eased into the Liverpool first team by Klopp, who handed the local favourite his debut.

Becoming a regular in the season Liverpool reached the UEFA Champions League final, Alexander-Arnold established himself as arguably the world's best full-back.

5 - Jordan Henderson - 304

Signing from Sunderland, where he came through as a highly rated youngster, Jordan Henderson finally fulfilled his potential under Klopp.

Becoming a crucial part of Liverpool's most successful midfield, Henderson skippered the club to Premier League and UEFA Champions League glory.

6 - Andrew Robertson - 297

Playing at numerous levels of football in two countries, it would've been hard to envisage Andrew Robertson having the career he did when he was being relegated with Hull City.

But with a tremendous work rate and an uncanny ability to put the ball into dangerous areas, Robertson became the perfect full-back to line up opposite Alexander-Arnold.

7 - Neven Subotic - 282

The first non-Liverpool player on the list, Neven Subotic was brought into the Mainz team by Klopp, who swiftly brought the Serbian with him to Borussia Dortmund, where the pair spent seven more years together.

8 - Roman Weidenfeller - 280

The arrival of Klopp to Dortmund saw Roman Weidenfeller established as the number one, a position he'd hold for the seven years Klopp spent at the club.

9 - Virgil van Dijk - 270

There was no denying that Liverpool had became a potent attacking force under Klopp, but the next step was making them an equally formidable defensive unit. The arrival of Virgil van Dijk did just that.

A world class defender who'd help them lift the two biggest trophies on offer, going on to win PFA Player of the Year.

10 - Sadio Mane - 269

While Sadio Mane's talents at Southampton were clear to see, his game went to the next level under Klopp.

With electrifying pace, the nous to pop up in dangerous locations and the ability to find the back of the net, Mane reached double figures for goals in every season, and scored the equaliser in the 2018 UEFA Champions League final.
