Jurgen Klopp has reportedly agreed a deal to become the new manager of the German national team.
The former Liverpool boss had been widely tipped to take over following Julian Nagelsmann's resignation and Germany's early exit from the World Cup.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news in a post on his official X account.
"BREAKING: Jürgen Klopp as new Germany head coach, here we go!
"Klopp has accepted to take over; long term contract details, project and RB Group exit still under discussion, but he will be the new head coach.
"RB considered Glasner as replacement but he signs at #NFFC.
"Klopp is back."
Klopp has previously distanced himself from a return to the dugout after saying he was happy with his role at Red Bull Group, where he has fulfilled the role as Head of Global Soccer.
The 59-year-old will return to management to take charge of Germany after viewing the opportunity as one that is too good to turn down.
After winning the Bundesliga on two occasions with Borussia Dortmund and leading the club to the UEFA Champions League final, Klopp moved to Liverpool in 2015.
He won the UEFA Champions League with the Reds in the 2018/19 season, before leading the club to Premier League glory in the following campaign.
Klopp stepped down as Liverpool manager in 2024 with a feeling of burnout, but he returns to the dugout refreshed and tasked with leading Germany to glory at Euro 2028.
Germany endured a poor 2026 World Cup campaign and they exited at the Round of 32 stage following a penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay.
