Chelsea have been linked with a move for Julian Alvarez following reports of the 24-year-old looking for a potential departure from Premier League champions Manchester City.

Coming off the back of his most successful season yet, boasting an impressive 19 goals and 13 assists in 54 games, Alvarez is starting to showcase his full potential.
After completing an incredible treble last year with City, the boy from Calchin, Argentina has already won everything you can win in football, both at club level and internationally, and has proven himself to be a serial winner at the ripe age of 24.
Despite producing excellent performances and numbers this campaign just gone, the feeling is that the Argentine still has so much more to give.
One of the main frustrations of being in a Guardiola side is the frequency of squad rotations. Essentially back-up to goal machine and two-time Premier League golden boot winner Erling Haaland, the lack of opportunity and a proper run of games could be justification for Alvarez to look for pastures new and to a club in which he would be the main man.
However, with Haaland enduring a season disrupted by injury, it does open a window of opportunity for the striker and presents an argument as to why he would look to stay at arguably the best team in the world. He is still odds-on to remain at the Manchester club this summer.
But with the departure of star man Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid, Alvarez could be answer to a notable void in PSG's frontline and spear a new look attack for Luis Enrique's side.
During the course of the season, City's number 19 has also found himself dropping into the No.10 role to fill voids left by the injured Kevin De Bruyne. With a larger sense of freedom and scope for expression, Alvarez adapted and added a much higher return of assists as well as a wider range of goals.
Bayern Munich, who went trophyless for the first time in 12 years last season, could look to capitalise on these qualities and add Alvarez to their arsenal in place of the ageing Thomas Muller.
Premier League rivals and big spenders Chelsea are also in contention and fellow countryman Diego Simeone may look to prise Alvarez to Atletico Madrid.
With Alvarez set to star for Argentina at Copa America, it is likely that a decision on his future will be made after the South American tournament.
