Klopp is 12/1 for his next job to be a return to west Germany to reunite with his former club, though it’s unlikely Klopp will make the move anytime soon, having left Liverpool at the end of the season looking for an extended break from football. Should Edin Terzic’s replacement fail to succeed in his first season, though, and Klopp may be lined up for a return.
Germany looks the most likely destination for Klopp at the moment and the national side is the current 2/5 favourite, despite Julian Nagelsmann extending his contract to 2026.
Should Klopp look for a return to management sooner, Barcelona look like one of the most likely options. Former Bayern Munich and Germany manager Hansi Flick has recently taken over from Xavi following a bizarre sequence of events that saw the former midfielder resign, be convinced to reconsider his position, only to be dismissed a few weeks later.
All is not well behind the scenes at Barcelona, however, signified by the uncertainty over the manager’s position, and enhanced by the financial difficulties cited by Xavi, which ultimately led to his departure.
It may be that Flick, who won the Treble with Bayern, finds Barca to be beyond even his abilities, and the club could be looking for a manager in another 12 months’ time.
Saudi Arabia have made huge investments into football recently, though mostly on star players rather than managers – Steven Gerrard is the most high-profile manager on the touchline in the Middle East – though they may look to buck that trend with Klopp. It’s unclear whether Klopp would be open to a move to Saudi Arabia, though the 56-year-old has spoken about Saudi Arabia positively in the past.
