bet365's boxing insider Rob Tebbutt shares his prediction for Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen's heavyweight bout in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, outlining where he feels the betting value lies.
Rob Tebbutt says...
Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen meet in a heavyweight cross-roads bout on the Usyk vs Fury 2 undercard in Saudi Arabia.
Fisher (1/10) enters the bout at a sizeable favourite, having moved to 12-0 (11 KOs) in his relatively short career as a professional, but will have to be wary of the threat posed by experienced gatekeeper Allen (6/1), who has aspirations of his own in the heavyweight division.
I do feel this is a decent step-up for Fisher, who has struggled for meaningful rounds so far in his career, ‘The Romford Bull’ is raw-but-athletic and will look to overwhelm Allen physically on Saturday night.
Allen, however, is a very tough, experienced campaigner and, after a disappointing showing in his last high-profile bout against Frazer Clarke, will look to drag the largely-untested Fisher into deep waters.
I do feel this is a fight where we’ll see Fisher keep his distance and chip away at Allen. I feel at this stage of Allen’s career, his issue will be closing the gap against the long, physically imposing Fisher and I can see him growing frustrated as the fight goes on.
Fisher can get the stoppage if he stays consistent in the fight, but I do feel it will come late and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Allen tough it out down the stretch, utilising some of his veteran tricks of the trade to stay safe and hear the final bell.
