The Ring Magazine are reporting that Jarrell 'Big Baby' Miller will have a percentage of his purse withheld by the British Boxing Board of Control after the controversial American heavyweight launched an attack on upcoming opponent Fabio Wardley earlier this month.
The 36-year-old already possessed something of a chequered past prior to throwing his hands in the face of his British opponent at the first of their three scheduled pre-fight press conferences last week.
The 26-1-2 boxer launched himself at the former British heavyweight champion after accusing the unbeaten Ipswich star to have made a 'diss song' about him.
At the time, the brash New York native said: "We are cut from different cloths. I was being really respectful, then he made a diss song, 'Big Baby Killer'.
"Where I come from, that is a death threat. I'm running you down, I'm coming to your face, plain and simple."
As a consequence of his actions, a letter obtained by the Ring Magazine sent to Frank Warren from Robert Smith, the general secretary of the BBBoC stated:
"Please advise Mr. Miller's team that his future conduct is being monitored and any repeat of his behaviour at the press conference on 7th April 2025 in Ipswich may result in permission to box in the UK not being granted and disciplinary action and a fine is a possibility.
"Therefore, it has been considered that a percentage of Mr. Miller's purse is lodged with the Board prior to the bout, of which I will advise accordingly."
The disciplinary action comes on the back of the British Boxing Board of Control's decision to fine Chris Eubank Jr. £100,000 after slapping Conor Benn with an egg at a press conference ahead of their hugely-anticipated all-British affair at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next Saturday night.
Miller is no stranger to controversy having previously served several boxing bans for testing positive for illegal substances, including one in 2019 just weeks before he was scheduled to tackle then heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joshua.
Wardley v Miller is set to take place at Portman Road, the home of Wardley's beloved ipswich Town, on Saturday 7th June, 2025.
