Japan are looking hugely impressive as they attempt to become the first Asian team to win the World Cup.
The Samurai Blue have qualified for each of the last seven World Cups and progress has been made by reaching the last 16 in both Russia and Qatar.
After friendly wins against both England and Brazil, there were high hopes that Japan could reach their first-ever quarter-final this summer and they will believe they could go even further if they can continue to compete at the very highest level.
Hajime Moriyasu's side played their part in an entertaining 2-2 draw with the Netherlands, before holding their own in a 1-1 stalemate with Sweden and thrashing Tunisia 4-0 to book a place in the knockout stages.
Japan are currently ahead in their last 32 tie with Brazil and they will make the footballing world stand up and take note if they can knock the five-time winners out of the tournament.
