The world number one arrives at Flushing Meadows with the Cincinnati Open title under his belt having defeated American Frances Tiafoe in straight sets in the final.
It was the perfect preparation for Sinner, whose invincible demeanour at the start of the year deteriorated during the clay-court and grass-court season.
After securing his maiden Grand Slam triumph at the Australian Open, the Italian tasted success in Rotterdam and Miami but failed to reach a final on clay, suffering defeat in the French Open semi-finals to the eventual champion and rival, Carlos Alcaraz.
Sinner prepared for Wimbledon in victorious fashion in Halle but bowed out at the quarter-final stage to Daniil Medvedev before withdrawing from the Olympics due to tonsillitis.
There have been question marks over Sinner's fitness heading into the US Open and though the 23-year-old outlined the physical exertions of his week in Cincinnati, he appears primed and ready to challenge for glory in New York.
Sinner has never gone beyond the quarter-finals in five appearances at the US Open but his hard-court record this year is truly phenomenal, winning 28 of his 30 competitive matches. Such form stands him in good stead over the next fortnight.
