Jannik Sinner won the second Grand Slam of his young career at the 2024 US Open, beating American Taylor Fritz in straight sets.
Only two players won their first two Grand Slams in the same year prior to Sinner, and the Italian stands alone as the youngest player to win the Australian Open and US Open in the same year.
With that in mind, we look at Sinner's chances of glory in 2025.
Despite his early exit at the US Open, Novak Djokovic as record-holding 10-time champion in the favourite for the first Slam of 2025 at the Australian Open, with Sinner close behind alongside Carlos Alcaraz.
Sinner is also second favourite for the second Slam of the year at the French Open, behind Alcaraz. While Sinner won 22 of his first 23 hard court matches in 2024, his exploits on clay left a little more to be desired. Sinner won 11 of 13 matches, withdrawing prior to his quarter-final with Felix Auger-Aliassime and missing the Rome Masters before being downed in five sets at the French Open by Alcaraz.
Sinner won the 2024 Halle Open, but fell at the quarter-final stage at Wimbledon, where Alcaraz has shown himself to be the man to beat, winning back to back Wimbledon crowns. As such, Sinner is second favourite for the third Grand Slam of the season.
Sinner's best chance of success appears to be the US Open. Despite just turning 23, Sinner has shown his proficiency on hard courts to be clear of his peers this season, and he'll be optimistic of going back to back a Flushing Meadows in 2025.
