Esteemed boxing trainer Jamie Moore believes Matchroom star Pat Brown is ready to make major inroads into his professional career but has emphasised the importance of 'perfect matchmaking' over the coming months.
The former Team GB star has been touted as a future world champion by many big names in the sport, including his trainer Moore, who feels the sky is the limit for the 25-year-old.
Brown made a perfect start to his post amateur career in April, recording an emphatic stoppage victory over fellow cruiserweight campaigner Federico Javier Grandone.
The victory was all the more impressive given the fact that the experienced Argentinean possessed a winning record within the pro ranks and had largely been avoided by many of the hottest 200lbs prospects over the past 18 months.
Whilst Moore acknowledges the Matchroom star was thrown straight into the deep end somewhat on his bow, he says the move was made with the fighter's best interests at heart.
"In all honesty, that opponent on his debut was a tough, tough guy," he told Boxing News.
"The vast majority of people, I believe, wouldn't have taken on that fight on somebody's debut, but that really just shows our faith in Pat.
In boxing you have to get the mix right, match-making is not an easy job because you have to make sure they are in there against an opponent who is going to give them some lessons and you also have to stick them in with somebody who is going to help sell them.

"You have to have fighters who they are going to look good against, and I believe if you get that balance right then you are going to get the best of both worlds."
The supremely-talented Mancunian will be rolled out for a second time on the undercard of Galal Yafai v Francisco Rodriguez Jr on June 21, before featuring on the hugely-anticipated Jack Catterall v Harlem Eubank bill just two weeks later.
No opponents have yet been announced for the former English Amateur Heavyweight Champion, but Moore has told fight fans to expect a designed contrast in quality.
"Listen, Pat is going to be an explosive, exciting fighter and I am guessing that is next opponent, in Birmingham, won't be of the calibre of the lad he fought on his debut," he added.
"However, two weeks later, in Manchester, the likelihood is that we will step things up a level again for him and fight somebody more like Grandone.
"But the truth is, the vast majority of fighters we put in front of Pat Brown, I believe he is going to go through them like a hot knife through butter."
