Keith Deller MBE provides his best bets for Monday night's winner-takes-all clash between James Wade and Rowby-John Rodriguez at the Grand Slam of Darts.
James Wade v Rowby-John Rodriguez
Monday 11th November (21:00)
James Wade and Rowby-John Rodriguez have both seen off Luke Humphries in the Grand Slam of Darts and both know that victory in this match will catapult them into the knockout rounds.
Nobody will have predicted Humphries being sent packing from the group stages of the very event that he won 12 months earlier, but that is what has happened.
James and Rowby-John took full advantage of the out of sorts world number one, and one of these players will be joining the surprise package Mickey Mansell in the last 16.
The big question is who will that be?
Honestly, it's almost too close to call, and certainly too close for me to be sticking my neck on the line with, so I have pulled out a couple of bets awat from the match-winner market which carry plenty of value.
With so much riding on this don't be surprised to see the averages dip a tad - there will be some moments of quality, but there will be times of adversity too, where both will have to dig deep.
I don't see a runaway winner, so the bet for me is for the match to go all the way to a deciding leg shootout - this group seems destined to end that way.
Machine by name, machine by nature - no player is as adept as James at taking out those big 100+ finishes. We have seen it time and time again, year after year.
He hit a couple of three-dart combinations in his win over Luke on Sunday night, and I love the price on offer for Wadey to land a couple of 100+ checkouts in this match too.
A far shorter odds play is for James to land two or more 180s.
Now he isn't a prolific power scorer, but if we get the legs I am expecting - certainly over seven, then I'd be stunned not to see him rattle home a couple of maximums.
Odds will display when markets are live.
