Jack Draper Acapulco Odds: Brit 15/4 to land first ATP title

Jack Draper is 15/4 to secure a maiden ATP singles title in the Mexican Open after easing into the semi-finals with a straight sets victory over Miomir Kecmanovic.

The 22-year-old continued his dominant form in Acapulco by defeating Serbian Kecmanovic 6-2 6-2 in one hour and 23 minutes.

Draper broke twice in each set and struck 18 winners as he set up a fascinating clash with the defending champion Alex de Minaur in the final four.

The pair have met twice before, with De Minaur prevailing in both contests, though their last encounter in Tokyo in October required a tiebreak in the deciding set.

ATP Acapulco

It’s been an emphatic week for the British number three, having conceded only 11 games in the three matches he’s played so far.

He began the tournament in sensational style by dominating Tommy Paul - who is ranked 36 places higher than Draper – in a 6-0 6-4 triumph in the first round.

Draper was impressive again on his next outing as he cruised past Japanese star Yoshihito Nishioka 6-3 6-0, chalking up two bagels in as many days.

The world number 50 then dispatched Kecmanovic in convincing fashion to reach his first ATP 500 maiden semi-final.

Draper is yet to taste success since making his debut on the ATP Tour in 2021, but the Sutton-born ace has come agonisingly close in recent months.

He didn’t drop a single set en-route to his first ATP final in Sofia in November, only to finish runner-up to veteran Adrian Mannarino.

Draper was in a final again two months later in Adelaide, overcoming Alexander Bublik in the semis to set up a clash with Jiri Lehecka. Despite taking the first set, Draper succumbed to another heartbreaking defeat.

De Minaur now stands in the way of Draper and a third final, with the Brit priced at 11/10 to win the match.

The other semi-final will see Holger Rune take on Casper Ruud, which will be the first meeting of the pair on a hard court surface.

All of their previous six head-to-heads have been on clay, with their last encounter seeing Ruud reach the semi-finals of the French Open.

Ruud is the 8/11 favourite to win the match, with Rune the underdog at 11/10.
