The latest horse racing betting tips for today's ITV racing from Racing Post tipster Robbie Wilders.
13:30 Beverley - Drawn To Dream @ 8/1
14:05 Beverley - Commanche Falls @ 7/2
15:15 Chester - Real Dream @ 11/2
13:30 Beverley - Drawn To Dream @ 8/1
The ITV coverage opens with a 1m4f handicap at Beverley and the market revolves around two improving three-year-olds in Quietness and Walter Hartright.
Quietness still has something to prove in a well-run race over 1m4f and the handicapper might just have caught up with Walter Cartwright now.
Despite the small field, this could be a war of attrition at the trip with plenty who like to go forward. A strong test would play into the hands of Drawn To Dream.
This filly was Group class in Germany and an eye-catching sixth off a big weight in the Copper Horse Handicap at Royal Ascot on her stable debut for Jamie Osborne.
There have been excuses for her two below-par efforts since, but we know she is a strong stayer (won over 2m4f in Germany) who is going to relish the likely set-up on the stiff track at Beverley.
14:05 Beverley - Commanche Falls @ 7/2
Another who should appreciate the course at Beverley is Commanche Falls in the Listed Beverley Bullet.
This evergreen sprinter is adaptable regarding 5f and 6f. His best performance this season came when second to Believing under a penalty in the Achilles Stakes at Haydock over the minimum distance. That filly is top class and Commanche Falls was six lengths clear of the third.
The selection wasn't at his best in two subsequent outings at the Curragh and Newbury, but bounced right back to form when third off a huge weight in a top 6f handicap at York’s Ebor meeting.
The seven-year-old came alive this time last year and recent efforts confirm the view that the fire still burns. Expect a strong gallop with plenty of prominent racers around for Commanche Falls to chase.
15:15 Chester - Real Dream @ 11/2
Willie Mullins' decision to run Absurde in the Chester Stakes is intriguing. Last season's Ebor winner will need to take a massive leap forward from his underwhelming return at the Curragh recently and might be using this as a stepping stone to something bigger.
Preference at bigger odds is for Real Dream for Sir Michael Stoute, who excels with this type of slow-burning horse. Real Dream wasn't himself when last seen at York 77 days ago, but don't hold that against him.
He was subsequently sent for wind surgery and Stoute seems certain to have this somewhat fragile type, who is still lightly raced for a five-year-old, ripe and ready for the challenge.
His dam progressed to land a Group 1 at that age and Real Dream has produced lifetime bests every time he has returned from an absence. Another small jolt of improvement would see him go close.
