bet365's boxing expert Rob Tebbutt looks ahead to an intriguing featherweight bout between Isaac Lowe and Lee McGregor in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and underlines where he feels the betting value lies.
Rob Tebbutt says...
Isaac Lowe and Lee McGregor meet in a fascinating featherweight dust-up on the Usyk vs Fury 2 undercard on Saturday night.
Lowe (6/4) has been a mainstay of Tyson Fury undercards in recent years, with varying degrees of success. He was most notably stopped by now WBA featherweight champion Nick Ball on the Fury vs Whyte undercard in April 2022, but will be hoping for better this time around.
McGregor (8/15) on the other hand, is something of a forgotten man in British boxing.
After racing to British, Commonwealth and European honours early in his career, the Edinburgh man has struggled for form and consistency in recent times. A bout against Lowe is a must win for ‘Lightning’ Lee and, on his day, he possesses the necessary tools to get the job done.
Outside of the main event, I think this is the most well-matched fight on the card and I’m predicting a close and hard-to-score fight over ten rounds.
I would edge towards McGregor by virtue of being the better fighter ‘on his day’ - but wouldn’t be surprised if Lowe is able to fiddle his way to a decision either. It’s that kind of fight.
