The 2025 Premier League Darts line-up is set to be announced on Monday afternoon, but will the 2025 World Darts Champion Luke Littler be included?
'The Nuke' Luke Littler is the defending Premier League champion having romped to victory on debut last year, and is expected to be installed as favourite to make a successful defence of his crown in 2025.
The top four in the PDC's two-year Order of Merit are guaranteed a spot in the competition, meaning Littler, the current world number three, will be joined by world number one Luke Humphries, World Darts Championship runner-up Michael van Gerwen (number two) and former champion of the World, Rob Cross (number four).
The Warrington star has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past 12 months, reaching the final of the Alexandra Palace spectacular just a couple of months after turning professional late in 2023, before surpassing that achievement by capturing the coveted Sid Waddell trophy last week.
Littler saw off three-time Ally Pally winner MVG in destructive fashion in an enthralling World Championship final, and will be confident of adding yet more silverware to his rapidly growing honours list in the upcoming Premier League.
'The Nuke' took down every single player throughout the competition, securing himself top spot in a stacked group stage that also included the likes of Humphries, Van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price and Michael Smith.
He secured 23 victories to end the group stage on 40 points, four more than Humphries, who was runner-up.
On Finals Night, Littler notched a 100.17 average as he dismantled Michael Smith 10-5 in the last four, before reigning supreme in the event with an even more eye-catching 10-7 success over Humphries - a match in which the Warrington man averaged almost 106 in.
