Despite racing over obstacles practically all year round, the main body of the Irish jumps season takes place between October and May.
The change in the weather during the winter provides more suitable ground for national hunt racing meaning that most of the quality contests take place between December and April.
Huge stops along the way include the Leopardstown Christmas Festival, Dublin Racing Festival, Fairyhouse Easter Festival and Punchestown Festival.
