The Willie Mullins stablemates will finally meet on the track in Sunday's Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown, with Lossiemouth fancied to bounce back from the two-and-a-half-length defeat to Constitution Hill at Kempton's Christmas Hurdle in December.
Whilst State Man hasn't been in the same form as he was when winning last year's Champion Hurdle, there is still hope that he can pose a threat to Lossiemouth in what promises to be a fascinating precursor to the Cheltenham Festival.
One notable absence is Brighterdaysahead, the Gordon Elliott-trained mare who put in a stellar performance when lowering the colours of State Man over Christmas and will be heading straight to Cheltenham.
