Ipswich Town v Liverpool tips from the Football Betting Club

Ipswich will look to continue their promising start to life in the Premier League when hosting Liverpool on Friday night.

The Tractors Boys beat Sunderland on their return to the top flight and took the lead against Manchester United at Old Trafford before falling to a 5-2 defeat.

The Reds meanwhile have struggled so far under Andoni Iraola, twice needing to come from behind to rescue a point against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.

On the Football Betting Club podcast, Mark Stinchcombe is expecting both sides to continue their free-scoring form.

Ipswich Town v Liverpool Prediction

Best Bet: Both teams over 1.5 goals @ 15/4

Mark said: "Forest were excellent last weekend, I'm really impressed with how quickly Oliver Glasner has got his ideas across. Liverpool were bad but it shouldn't take away from how good Forest were, so absolutely no way could I be backing Liverpool at 1/2 here.

"Ipswich have started really well, they've shown a lot of attacking impetus which I think is going to be crucial for them if they want to stay up. For this game I immediately thought of goals; Liverpool have drawn both of their games 2-2, Ipswich won 2-1 against Sunderland and gave United a bit of a scare last weekend before running out of steam and losing 5-2.

"Despite the fact Liverpool have got a new manager they seem to have continued where they left off last season, conceding for fun. They conceded 53 goals last season which was the eighth-most in the league. I know they tried to integrate Kerkez and Frimpong into the back four but an incredible drop-off from the likes of Gravenberch and Mac Allister in central midfield to give away so much space on the counter attack.

"I think this game starts 2-1 either way and then it's going to be a case of will we see any more goals? I'm not going to be backing over 2.5 at 4/7 but I think I've found a way to make goals pay at a much bigger price and that's to back both teams to score over 1.5 at 15/4, which is an enormous leap from 4/7 to 15/4, essentially we're asking for one more goal.

"Ipswich have the highest xGA, Liverpool have the fifth-most, but going forward Ipswich have the eighth highest xG and Liverpool have the sixth highest, so it feels like a basketball game."
