IPL Records: Most sixes

First played in 2008, the Indian Premier League has become the home to some of modern-day cricket's biggest hitters.

Clearing the ropes is second nature to many in the IPL and we've compiled a list of the players who have hit the most sixes in the competition.

Chris Gayle - 357

One of the greatest, if not the greatest Twenty20 batters to have graced the format, it should come as little surprise to see Chris Gayle rank top of the charts for most sixes

Gayle's destructive capabilities saw him clear the ropes 357 times on behalf of Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab (later known as Punjab Kings) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru between 2009 and 2021.

The Windies legend also holds the records for most sixes in a season having chalked up 59 for Royal Challengers in 2012.

Rohit Sharma - 280

One of the best batters in IPL history, Rohit Sharma has played every season since its inception in 2008 and such longevity has helped him to amass 280 sixes in the competition.

Virat Kohli - 272*

Virat Kohli hit 38 sixes in 2024, which equalled his season-best tally in the competition and the IPL's all-time leading runscorer will have his sights set on ousting Sharma in second.
