It was theatre from the very beginning.
While there was very little technique on display, the battle between the Ibiza Final Boss - real name Jack Kay - and Jordan McCann delivered drama from the opening bell and electrified the crowd at the AO Arena in Manchester.
On the undercard of the clash between Tommy Fury and Eddie Hall the crossover boxing debut of the Ibiza Final Boss had captured the attention of fans from the moment it was announced.
In front of a worldwide audience on DAZN, McCann made his way down to the ring accompanied by two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury with the Manchester rapper drawing a divisive response from the home crowd.
When the opening bell sounded the pair immediately began swinging wildly, looking for a KO punch.
The referee was repeatedly forced to intervene as he attempted to force the two combatants to follow the rules of boxing, with the fouls becoming more flagrant as the fight progressed.
In the closing stages of the third round McCann appeared to attempted to bite his opponent's ear as they locked in a clinch, with the referee ultimately opting to allow the fight to continue to the delight of the fans in attendance.
By the final round both men appeared to be exhausted but continued to swing wildly, and they briefly spilled out of the ring following a coming together on the ropes.
By the time the four two-minute rounds came to a close both fighters had an argument for deserving to get their hand raised, with the judges ringside given the unenviable task of scoring what had been brawl from the moment it began.
Ultimately it was the Ibiza Final Boss that was declared the winner by majority decision, with two fighters ruling in his favour and the third scoring the fight even.
Speaking following the fight he vowed to fight on and insisted he would fight anyone Misfits put in front of him going forward.
Meanwhile McCann took his frustrations out on audience and revealed that he planned to use the £50,000 he had been paid for the fight to marry his partner.
