After Roman Josi scored two goals and two assists to help the Nashville Predators beat the Minnesota Wild 6-2 on Sunday, coach John Hynes labelled the defenceman as the best in the NHL.
The 31-year-old Josi has scored 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) during a six-game point streak for the Predators who are currently 22/1 to win the Stanley Cup in 2021/22.
Josi shines again
In 57 games this season, Josi has amassed a career-high 66 points which leads all defencemen. His 17 goals and 49 assists are second in each category.
His 27 points (eight goals, 19 assists) on the powerplay ranks fifth in the NHL, helping Nashville to a 24.4% success rate with the man-advantage which is seventh best in the league.

Josi was selected in the second-round of the 2008 NHL draft by the Predators and is in his 11th season with the franchise.
In 737 regular season games, the Czech has collected 512 points (134 goals, 378 assists) with 177 of his points and 43 goals coming on the powerplay.
Nashville have qualified for the Stanley Cup playoffs in each of the past seven seasons with Josi scoring 40 points (10 goals, 30 assists) in 81 games over eight total campaigns.
The Predators are 34-21-4 and sit fourth in the Central Division. With 72 points, they hold the first Wild Card spot to qualify for the playoffs from the Western Division.
Hynes said to the media about Josi following the victory over the Wild: "The best defenseman in the game. Not so sure that there's a player that impacts their team and their organisation the way that Roman does."
