After being acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes on NHL trade deadline day, forward Max Domi stated his belief that he has joined the best team in the NHL.
The Hurricanes, 17/2 to win the Stanley Cup in 2021/22, manufactured the move for the 27-year-old in a three-way trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Florida Panthers.
Domi, who was in a second season with the Blue Jackets has scored 23 points (nine goals, 23 assists) in 32 games this season.
Selected in the first round with the 12th pick by the Arizona Coyotes in 2013, Domi has played in 482 regular season games with 307 points (99 goals, 208 assists) with the Blue Jackets, Montreal Canadiens and Coyotes.
The centreman is in the final season of a two-year contract which he signed with the Blue Jackets in October 2020, a day after he was acquired in a trade from the Canadiens.
