While the 31-year-old had already been enjoying a sensational Sunday, his crowning moment came on the 17th green as he holed an incredible 69ft putt to all but ensure an historic win.

As well as winning a first major title, the Wolverhampton-born Rai is the first Englishman to win to win the PGA Championship since 1919 and the first non-American to land this major since Australian Jason Day in 2015.
