England's UEFA Nations League clash against Croatia in Rijeka on Saturday will be a behind closed doors fixture, but there will still be fans in attendance.
Due to crowd trouble during Croatia's UEFA Nations League quarter-final encounter with France last year, UEFA imposed a one-match suspension on supporters attending a Croatia home fixture.
Travelling supporters were also prohibited from attending Croatia's 2-1 victory over Czechia in Prague on Saturday.
However, while home fans have been banned from attending the match between Croatia and England, it's expected the Rijeka Stadion will have approximately 3,000-6,000 Croatian children in attendance due to a UEFA regulation which permits the free entry of children in these circumstances.
Cited in Article 73 of UEFA’s disciplinary regulations, an exception can be made for “children up to the age of 14 from schools and/or academies invited to the match free of charge.”
The banning of home supporters has also had an impact on the allocation awarded to England supporters.
We take a look at how many Three Lions fans will be inside the ground in Rijeka.
Due to the sanctions on home supporters, the FA only received 100 complimentary tickets for England supporters to attend the match.
Initially no away fans were permitted entry to the fixture, but following constructive talks between the FA and UEFA, it was agreed England will have just 100 supporters in attendance via the FA’s delegate allocation.
Made available to members of the England Supporters Travel Club, the 100-strong delegation consists of some of the most dedicated Three Lions supporters.
Known as 'top cappers', these supporters have attended every Three Lions fixture home and away since the 2024 European Championship.
