There are three meetings in Britain on Tuesday, with a split of two over jumps and one Flat fixture on the all-weather at Newcastle.
The latest horse racing betting tips for Tuesday's cards from Racing Post tipster Graeme Rodway.
14:25 Taunton - The Doyen Chief @ 10/3
16:30 Newcastle - Zivaniya @ 11/4
19:00 Newcastle - Leodis Dream @ 17/2
14:25 Taunton - The Doyen Chief @ 10/3
The 2m7f handicap chase at Taunton can go to The Doyen Chief, who won his sole start over hurdles at this course and looks open to plenty of further improvement back here over fences.
The Alan King-trained gelding has run in only two chases and shown promise on both occasions. He was beaten just two and three-quarter lengths into third on his chasing debut at Market Rasen in October and put in another superb effort when third behind a subsequent winner at Exeter last time.
The Doyen Chief was only four lengths behind the rapidly improving Lowry’s Bar on that occasion and has a 2lb pull in the weights with the reopposing runner-up Stormy Flight, so could reverse the form.
The step up to 2m7f for the first time under rules promises to be the catalyst for further improvement from this 3m point winner and The Doyen Chief already has some of the best form on offer here.
16:30 Newcastle - Zivaniya @ 11/4
The 2m1/2f handicap at Newcastle is a good opportunity for course-and-distance winner Ziyaniya to record his second victory at this track and build on a promising effort at Kempton a couple of weeks ago.
Zivaniya was beaten only a length by winner Comte De Loir on that occasion and the form is working out well. The fourth and sixth have both gone close in defeat since and Ziyaniya is off the same mark.
The return to this track promises to suit Zivaniya and he is versatile tactically, having made most of the running when recording his last victory at the course, but also able to race from off the pace.
Hollie Doyle is an eyecatching jockey booking for the Hugo Palmer stable, with four wins, two seconds and four thirds from just 17 rides for the yard, and that suggests connections are expecting a big run.
19:00 Newcastle - Leodis Dream @ 17/2
William Dewhirst is a five-time course winner who will be popular in the 5f handicap at Newcastle, but he has yet to win over a trip this short and might find things happening too fast.
Take a chance on another track specialist in Leodis Dream. He has a win, a second and a third from just four starts at Newcastle and has been sharp enough to win over course and distance, so 5f suits.
Leodis Dream is racing off the same mark as when beaten only three-quarters of a length into third over course and distance last time and goes well fresh, so the 99-day absence since is no worry.
Warren Fentiman is on board claiming 7lb and in-form trainer Paul Midgley struck with a 14/1 winner at this course on Saturday. That suggests Leodis Dream will be ready to go following his short break.
