Sandown Horse Racing Betting Tips and Odds

1:50 Sandown - Jupiter Du Gite @ 7/1
3:00 Sandown - Sam Brown @ 5/1
3.35 Sandown - Navajo Indy @ 9/2

1:50 Sandown - Jupiter Du Gite @ 7/1

JUPITER DU GITE is riddled with talent and there is a big chance it could all click for him in the 2m4f handicap chase.

A notorious free-goer, Jupiter Du Gite built up a huge advantage from the front over three miles here last time but simply didn’t see things out.

Dropping half a mile in trip looks a smart move by his connections and Jupiter Du Gite could take some pegging back over this shorter distance.

This six-year-old arrives in fine fettle. He's recorded back-to-back career-best performances on Racing Post Ratings, and it is worth remembering that his half-brother and stablemate, Editeur Du Gite, took some time to find his feet before quickly climbing through the ranks at the age of seven.

3:00 Sandown - Sam Brown @ 5/1

Class counts for an awful lot in handicaps and so does a good-value conditional rider. Given SAM BROWN finished third in the Charlie Hall only two starts back and the capable Chad Bament is claiming 10lb off his back, there is a chance he could dot up in the Veterans’ Final.

You need to stay strongly over three miles at Sandown and Sam Brown possesses abundant stamina. He won the rearranged version of this race last year at Warwick and his trainer, Anthony Honeyball, highlighted this contest at the beginning of the season as his major long-term target.

Honeyball also took this in 2020 and Sam Brown’s failure to get involved in the Coral Gold Cup last time is easy to forgive. He was carrying top weight against up-and-coming chasers and that would have been a stepping stone to this anyway.

3.35 Sandown - Navajo Indy @ 9/2

The two handicap debutants in the 2m hurdle at Sandown, Honky Tonk Highway and Oh My Johnny, are of clear interest off low opening marks, but NAVAJO INDY still rates the likelest winner.

He scored in great style on his own handicap debut in the Gerry Feilden at Newbury last time and an 8lb rise for that display is fair considering how well the form has worked out.

The well-beaten seventh, ninth, 11th and 12th all scored next time and this represents a slight drop in class for Navajo Indy.

Even his previous victory in novice company at Bangor is working out nicely as the runner-up, Gamesters Guy, has hacked up since. It would be a surprise if this six-year-old didn’t have another decent pot in him.
