2.50 Hamilton - Aconcagua Mountain @ 8/13
The Moira Stein Memorial Handicap (2.50) at Hamilton looks like a good opportunity for Aconcagua Mountain, who is in the form of his life and is capable of winning two in a row.
The five-year-old equalled his career-best Racing Post Rating when second in a 5f handicap at Musselburgh two starts ago and bettered that form with an easy victory at Ayr on Thursday.
Aconcagua Mountain was always up with the pace that day and ran on strongly to comfortably beat 19 rivals by a length and three-quarters, recording a career-best RPR.
He turns out quickly just three days after that success with Archie Young claiming 7lb off his back. This negates the 5lb penalty he carries for that last win and he looks a step ahead of the handicapper.
It will be a surprise if he can’t follow up, with soft ground evidently no issue.

The Usave Business Energy Specialist Fillies’ Handicap (4.00) at Hamilton is a competitive race, despite only six runners lining up, and it could go to the bang in-form mare Iris Dancer.
The daughter of Kodiac has a good record over course and distance and has steadily improved her finishing positions on her last three outings at the track, culminating in a victory here on good ground 19 days ago. She is equally effective on a soft surface, too.
Iris Dancer made the running that day and briefly looked in trouble when headed a furlong out, but rallied well and was going away again at the line. She was value for further than the neck winning margin.
That was her fourth victory over course and distance and she won this race last year off a 4lb lower mark.
She is also only 2lb higher than for her aforementioned last win at the track and should be capable of following up.

5.40 Hamilton - Tafsir @ 5/1
The Book Your Christmas Party Here @hamilton.co.uk Handicap (5.40) at Hamilton features several in-form and consistent runners, but the pick of them might be the Jim Goldie-trained Tafsir.
The four-year-old has won three of his last five starts and among that sequence of wins are a victory at this track and a wide-margin success at Musselburgh in August.
His win here came on good to soft ground and the progeny of his sire, Tamarkuz, often act on testing conditions.
That gives hope that the return to turf can help him bounce back from a disappointing run on the all-weather at Newcastle last month when he beat only one home and finished more than 10 lengths behind the winner. That race was better than the one that he contests here, though.
He runs off a career-high mark, but was going forwards quickly before that reverse on sand last time and the drop two rungs in grade from a Class 4 to a Class 6 could do the trick.
